Mitsubishi, founded in 1917, is the fourth largest car maker in Japan.  Mitsubishi's sales have been down in the U.S. in recent years, but Mitsubishi is hoping the Eclipse Spyder and Lancer Evolution can perk up sales.  Mitsubishi and DaimlerChrysler are no longer partners.  DaimlerChrysler sold its share in Mitsubishi Motors.  They are still sharing designs in a couple of cars.  The 2008 Lancer and the Chrysler PT Cruiser share parts and Chrysler will continue to manufacture Mitsubishi's Raider.

The 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer is a sedan that seats up to five passengers.  The 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer is a carryover from 2008.

There has been no news officially from Mitsubishi on the Lancer Evolution , but it is expected that it will have a new 2.0L MIVAC turbo four with about 300 horsepower, paddle-shifted 6-speed dual-clutch sequential manual transmission, sporty suspension, and AWD.

The 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander is a SUV that seats up to seven passengers.  The 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander is a carryover from 2008.

The 2009 Mitsubishi Raider is a 2-door or 4-door compact pickup that seats up to six passengers.  The Mitsubishi Raider compact pickup evolved from the Dodge Dakota.  While Dodge has added an optional V8 engine to the Dakota, the Raider has not.  It is not clear as to the fate of the Raider after the 2009 model.  The 2009 Mitsubishi Raider is a carryover from 2008.
